Surrounding the primary dais are twenty-four secondary thrones occupied by [elders](/persons/elders) in pristine white robes, their heads adorned with golden crowns. The atmosphere is electric, pulsing with thunderous roars and constant flashes of lightning. Before the throne, seven torches burn—identified as the seven Spirits of [God](/persons/god)—while a crystalline sea of glass stretches out before the majesty of the One seated. Four distinct [living creatures](/persons/living%20creatures), each uniquely formed like a lion, a calf, a human, and a soaring eagle, keep a constant, tireless watch, their bodies covered in eyes, echoing a perpetual anthem of holiness that shakes the very foundations of the space. The mood shifted from awe to profound distress when a scroll, sealed with seven distinct wax seals, appeared in the hand of the One on the throne. A search for a being worthy to break these seals yielded no candidates across heaven, earth, or the subterranean depths, prompting widespread weeping. The stalemate was broken, however, by a figure emerging at the center: a [Lamb](/persons/lamb), appearing as though He had been slain but possessing the power of seven horns and seven eyes. The atmosphere transformed into a scene of rapturous celebration as the Lamb claimed the scroll. The living creatures and elders responded by falling to their knees, playing harps, and offering golden bowls filled with incense—symbolizing the accumulated prayers of the saints. They erupted into a new song, declaring the Lamb's unique worthiness to inherit the scroll due to His sacrifice, which has unified a kingdom of people from every tribe and nation. The event has escalated into a global, cosmic resonance. Myriads of [angels](/persons/angels) have joined the chorus, and the vibration of their voices has reached every corner of the universe. From the heights of heaven to the depths of the sea, every creature is currently joining the cry: 'To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever!' The atmosphere remains one of total, unified worship as the cosmic decree begins to unfold. ### The Throne in Heaven After this I looked and saw a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had previously heard speak to me like a trumpet was saying, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after these things.” At once I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne standing in heaven, with someone seated on it. The One seated there looked like jasper and carnelian, and a rainbow that gleamed like an emerald encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and on these thrones sat twenty-four [elders](/persons/elders) dressed in white, with golden crowns on their heads. ### Worship of the Creator From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings, and peals of thunder. Before the throne burned seven torches of fire. These are the seven Spirits of [God](/persons/god). And before the throne was something like a sea of glass, as clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four [living creatures](/persons/living%20creatures), covered with eyes in front and back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second like a calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. And each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying:“Holy, Holy, Holy,is the Lord God Almighty,who was and is and is to come!” And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the One seated on the throne who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before the One seated on the throne, and they worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “Worthy are You, our Lord and God,to receive glory and honor and power,for You created all things;by Your will they exist and came to be.” ### The Lamb Takes the Scroll Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the One seated on the throne. It had writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty [angel](/persons/angels) proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or look inside it. And I began to weep bitterly, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Then I saw a [Lamb](/persons/lamb) who appeared to have been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And He came and took the scroll from the right hand of the One seated on the throne. When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song:“Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals,because You were slain,and by Your blood You purchased for Godthose from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdomand priests to serve our God,and they will reign upon the earth.” ### The Lamb Exalted Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and living creatures and elders encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands. In a loud voice they were saying:“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,to receive power and richesand wisdom and strengthand honor and glory and blessing!” And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying:“To Him who sits on the throneand to the Lambbe praise and honor and glory and powerforever and ever!” And the four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
