After navigating through open water and making stops at key coastal hubs, the group is clearly feeling the weight of their ultimate destination: Jerusalem. During a week-long stopover in Tyre, the situation took a turn. Local supporters, claiming to be guided by the Spirit, pleaded with Paul to abandon his plans. The atmosphere grew intense, as those who had grown close to the group clearly believe that Paul stepping foot in the capital will lead to significant trouble. Despite these warnings, the departure was marked by a poignant scene. The entire community—men, women, and children alike—walked the travelers down to the water’s edge. In a final show of unity, the group knelt together on the sandy beach to pray before the travelers boarded their ship. It was a somber, emotional goodbye that left the community behind and the road ahead filled with uncertainty. The party has since reached their next waypoint in Ptolemais, where they have been greeted by local believers. For now, the journey continues, with the looming question of what awaits Paul when he finally completes this trek. ### [Paul](/persons/paul)’s Journey to Jerusalem After we had torn ourselves away from them, we sailed directly to Cos, and the next day on to Rhodes, and from there to Patara. Finding a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, we boarded it and set sail. After sighting Cyprus and passing south of it, we sailed on to Syria and landed at Tyre, where the ship was to unload its cargo. We sought out the [disciples](/persons/disciples) in Tyre and stayed with them seven days. Through the Spirit they kept telling Paul not to go up to Jerusalem. But when our time there had ended, we set out on our journey. All the disciples, with their wives and children, accompanied us out of the city and knelt down on the beach to pray with us. And after we had said our farewells, we went aboard the ship, and they returned home. When we had finished our voyage from Tyre, we landed at Ptolemais, where we greeted the brothers and stayed with them for a day.
